Longtime SciTech† Editor Bill McIvor Resigns

by

The Rev. Dr. D. William McIvor has, for health reasons, resigned as of the first of this year from his role as editor and publisher of SciTech†, as well as from all his other roles within the Association. Bill’s contributions to our Association have been enormous and were properly recognized by extending to him the 2023 Ken McCall Excellence in Science, Technology, and Christian Faith Ministry Award. To quote part of the award citation:

Through never-ending encouragement, cajoling, and occasional begging, he has maintained at a high content level, almost single-handedly and with his own pen, the only denominationally related journal for the regular pew-sitter on science, technology, and the Christian faith. Along the way, he also redrafted the PASTCF Bylaws and he reminds other Board members how things have been in the past. For his SciTech† work alone [Bill more than] deserves the recognition that the McCall Award affords.

As a matter of fact, the current issue of SciTech† is only the second one in the life of PASTCF that was not edited or published by him. And there were many other roles he played; in a very true sense, he was the glue that held things together with his extensive knowledge of the history of PASTCF. We will be forever grateful to Bill and wish him and his wife Merrie God’s grace and peace, from this day on for all the days of their lives.
